In 1953 Greenland's colonial status ended with the establishment of the 1953 Danish constitution. Denmark-Greenland history, identifying some of the major political, economic, and socio-cultural forces involved in the historical emergence of modern Greenland. In general terms, my analytical framework is informed by world systems theory (e.g. Immanuel Wallerstein, 2004), and dependency theory (e.g. Andre Gunder Frank, 1966).
